Venue: Suburban Coffeehouse, 1000
sq.ft. total with about 2/3rds of that retail space, counter/bar w/kitchen
Layout: Angled "L" floor layout about 19 ft. wide by maybe 40 ft.long if you include the little tuneup room before the restroom. Lighting & Sound included.
Capacity: Regularly set to about 32 people, can expand to about 40 or so
comfortably and have had as many as 50 with standing and floorsitting.
Times: Shows are generally Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday and Saturday, minimum 2 hours long from 8:00pm to 10:00pm (shows start
and end late often, especially during summer nights when sun is still in the
sky.
Parking: parking is free on a first come basis, next to the building,
municipal parking lot across the street behind the church, across at the post office or around the safe streets.
Rates:
All cover charges set and collected by the house (we take no cut). Rates start
at $7 normally and can increase to $9 depending on factors set by the house
(like number of musicians) Special advance ticket shows start at $10 w/ the
house receiving 10% for extra expenses. CD sales, tipjars, merchandising, etc, (if required) will be the responsibility of the performers.
In-House Sound: (setup ready to go,
w/operator supplied) Bose Panarray dual speaker system with Bose digital
controller, QSC 300w power amp, Mackie 8 channel stereo mixer (4 mic/4 line) w/eq
& RCA ins/outs, stage snake supplied, outboard Lexicon FX, 1 powered Mackie 300w floor
monitor (2nd one available if needed), 4 microphones & stands (dynamic mics only,
phantom power not recommended) for main vocals we can supply one AKG C1000
Condenser Mic (battery powered) used primarily for more acoustic settings.
Recommended Configurations: For solo, duo or trio acts it's the perfect intimate setting,
5 players is about max the stage will hold.
Most any instrument welcomed with some considerations; Bass guitar w/amp is preferred but at low volume please and though percussion is ok, drums
must tailor fit (if you require drums they must be a small kit and be at a low volume
only) Bands are welcomed (bring all your own amps if needed, direct lines are
provided) Always bring your own instruments, mics, cables, tuners, stands, etc...
Style: Mostly acoustic guitar driven singer songwriters and storytellers playing originals and
occasional covers of a traditional coffeehouse
flavor with lotsa room for the young new groups mixed in with some all time great classics and forgotten favorites.
Comics, Poets and Performing Arts are all welcomed (blue material curbed when children are present).
House reserves the right to shut down any overly
loud or offensive performances.
